When it comes to birds of prey, owls are the business. They do everything that the others do - fast flight, precision hunting - but they do it all in the dark. Now that is impressive. In a fully-equipped lakeside fishing cabin, you'll be taught all about the fishing tackle, the flies used, what, when and how to fish them, how to read the water and how to cast a fly. Then after a lunch break it's your opportunity to put all the coaching into practise and fly fish for trout from the banks of world-famous Rutland Water on a motor boat. If you are lucky enough to catch a fine trout, it will even be prepared and packed for you to take home and show off to friends and family. You may take up to a maximum of two fish home. Rutland Water has around 26 miles of shoreline, covering 3,500 acres and is Europe's premier trout fishing lake; the trout are not too easy to catch but the quality of the fish are world class.
